Japanese convenience stores (Konbini) are more than just places to shop; they are hubs for anime and character collaboration culture.
Starting Thursday, February 12, 2026, a new campaign will begin at 7-Eleven stores across Japan. If you purchase chocolate from the famous Japanese confectionery maker “Meiji,” you can receive limited-edition goods featuring “Sanrio” characters.
Campaign Overview
This campaign will be held at 7-Eleven locations nationwide.
- Start Date: Thursday, February 12, 2026, at 10:00 AM (JST)
- Location: 7-Eleven stores across Japan
- Condition: Purchase two eligible Meiji chocolate products at once
- Prize: Sanrio Characters Original Hair Comb
This campaign has limited quantities. Each store only has 15 items available (5 types x 3 of each). Character merchandise is extremely popular in Japan, and it is not uncommon for items to run out immediately after a campaign starts. If you want to be sure to get one, we recommend visiting the store right at the 10:00 AM start time.
The Prize: Sanrio Characters Original Hair Comb
The gift for this campaign is an original “Hair Comb” designed with popular Sanrio characters.
- Size: Height approx. 50mm (approx. 1.97 inches) × Width approx. 70mm (approx. 2.76 inches)
Its compact size fits perfectly in the palm of your hand, making it appealing. It is convenient for carrying in a makeup pouch or for fixing your bangs while traveling.
There are 5 designs in total. You can choose one design of your choice for every two eligible sweets purchased.

Eligible Products: Popular Meiji Chocolate Sweets
The eligible products for this campaign are Meiji chocolate sweets. These are standard snacks frequently seen in Japanese supermarkets and convenience stores.
The price range is from about 173 yen (approx. $1.15) to about 329 yen (approx. $2.20).
The lineup includes Japan’s famous “Kinoko no Yama (Mushroom Mountain)” and “Takenoko no Sato (Bamboo Shoot Village).” These two are long-loved snacks in Japan, famous enough that the debate over “which one is more delicious” has become a national joke.
Also included are the “Chocolate Koka (Chocolate Effect)” series with high cacao content for the health-conscious, as well as pouch-type sweets that are easy to share.

How to Participate in the Campaign
Participating in a Japanese Konbini campaign is very simple.
- Choose Products: Pick two eligible chocolate sweets from the candy aisle. You can mix and match freely (e.g., two “Kinoko no Yama” or one “Kinoko no Yama” and one “Takenoko no Sato”).
- Choose the Prize: Select the design you want from the “Hair Combs” displayed on the shelf.
- Go to the Register: Bring the two products and one hair comb to the register together.
- Checkout: Once you pay for the products, you can take the hair comb home with you.
About the End Date
The campaign period runs until Wednesday, February 25, 2026, but it will end as soon as the prizes run out.
Since Sanrio character goods are highly practical and have cute designs, they are expected to run out early. If you plan to visit Japan during this period, please check out a nearby 7-Eleven. It will make a wonderful souvenir unique to Japan.
