“Chiikawa,” a character boasting immense popularity in Japan’s pop culture scene, is once again teaming up with Japan’s 7-Eleven to launch the heartwarming winter campaign, “Let’s Enjoy Winter with Chiikawa! 7-Eleven x Chiikawa.” The second phase of this campaign will start on Friday, December 26, 2025, at stores all across Japan. Five types of Japanese and Western-style sweets, eagerly awaited by fans and faithfully recreating food from the original manga, are finally coming to a 7-Eleven in your town.
Behind this collaboration is the overwhelming popularity of “Chiikawa.” It is truly a national character, having achieved the remarkable feat of winning the Grand Prix at the “Japan Character Award 2025” for the third time (and the second consecutive year). The first winter campaign with 7-Eleven in 2024 was a huge success, receiving rave reviews from many fans. In response to this enthusiastic feedback, the number of collaboration products has been significantly increased this year, and the project’s content has been powered up even further.
Straight from the World of the Manga! 5 Heartwarming Sweets
The centerpiece of this second campaign phase is, without a doubt, the five sweets inspired by the gourmet treats appearing in the “Chiikawa” story. Fans will surely smile and think, “It’s from that scene!” as they enjoy these products born from heartwarming episodes.
Chiikawa’s Korokoro Petit Pancakes

Do you remember the giant hotcake that Chiikawa and its friend Usagi were engrossed in eating? These pancakes are a mini-sized version inspired by that scene, making them easy for anyone to eat. The packaging features adorable characters, and inside you’ll find two flavors: chocolate and maple. It might be fun to share them with friends. The price is 278 yen (300.24 yen including tax), and they will be released sequentially starting Tuesday, December 23rd.
Suggoi Tabemono Inari Age Mochi (Amazing Food Fried Tofu Pouch Mochi)

In the story, the “amazing food” that the character Hachiware wanted to “share” is this “Inari Age Mochi.” A classic in Japanese food culture, it’s a dish where chewy mochi (rice cake) is gently wrapped in sweet and savory deep-fried tofu pockets (inari age). The sweet and savory Japanese-style flavor is somehow nostalgic, yet it brings a new discovery. It will be available from Thursday, December 25th, for 240 yen (259.20 yen including tax).
Mocchiri Hotteok Chocolate

This product is inspired by the snack that Chiikawa and Hachiware ate together. “Hotteok” is a popular street food in Korea, characterized by its chewy dough. In this collaboration version, rich, bittersweet chocolate is encased within the dough. It’s a sweet treat that will warm your heart and body, perfect for the cold winter. It will be sold for 250 yen (270 yen including tax) from Thursday, December 25th, at stores all across Japan, excluding Okinawa Prefecture.
Strawberry Milk Pudding

That strawberry milk that the dandy character, Rakko (Sea Otter), drank while saying “time for a break” in the series has now become a pudding. It’s topped with a strawberry gelée containing fruit pulp, perfectly harmonizing the gentle sweetness of the milk pudding with the sweet and sour taste of strawberries. Its cute appearance will surely brighten up your dessert time. This will be released from Friday, December 26th, for 260 yen (280.80 yen including tax).
Bouncing! Giant Zaku-Zaku Castella

The large castella cake that the Chiikawa characters were happily bouncing on has been turned into a product. Castella is a popular sponge cake in Japan, said to have been introduced from Portugal in the 16th century. The special feature of this product is the coarse sugar crystals, known as “zarame,” spread on the bottom. The contrast between the moist cake and the “zaku-zaku” crunchy texture of the zarame is irresistible. It will be available from Tuesday, December 30th, for 398 yen (429.84 yen including tax).

Don’t Miss the Must-See Campaigns for “Chiikawa” Fans
In Japan, it’s common for participatory events like “stamp rallies” to be held alongside such collaborations. This campaign also has an irresistible project for fans.
Chiikawa LINE Stamp Rally

A stamp rally using Japan’s communication app “LINE” will be held for the first time. By scanning the QR codes on the in-store POP displays at 7-Eleven, you can collect digital stamps of the characters dressed in traditional Japanese attire, perfect for the New Year.

Collect two stamps, and you’ll receive a free original smartphone wallpaper.

Furthermore, if you collect four stamps, you’ll have a chance to win a “Chiikawa Original Stamp Set” (a physical stamp set) in a lottery for 100 lucky winners.

The system is designed so you can collect all the stamps by visiting four different stores. Why not give it a try while traveling in Japan?

X (formerly Twitter) Follow & Quote Post Campaign
By following the official 7-Eleven X (formerly Twitter) account and posting with the specified hashtag, 50 people will be chosen by lottery to win a “Chiikawa Original Design Chinese Steam Bun Bead Cushion (Usagi)”.

This is a unique and adorable cushion themed after the Chinese steam buns that are part of the collaboration. For details, please check https://x.com/711SEJ (Japanese Link).
