Lawson in Japan has announced the release of a total of 19 new strawberry-based products to commemorate “Strawberry Day” on January 15, 2026. The products will be rolled out sequentially at Lawson stores all across Japan, starting from December 30, 2025.
The main highlight is the first-ever collaboration with “Strawberry Mania,” a popular strawberry sweets specialty store originating from Tsukiji. Through this joint development with the famous store, known for serving strawberries year-round, a total of six items, including chilled beverages and confectionery, will be introduced.
In Japan, it’s common to create anniversaries from numerical wordplay. “Strawberry Day” is one such case; it was established by the Japan Strawberry Consumption Expansion Council because the date “1” (ichi) and “15” (go) can be read as “ichigo,” which means strawberry. It has become a tradition for many companies to release strawberry-related products to celebrate this day, making it a signature feature of winter in Japan.
Lawson holds a strawberry fair around this time every year. In January 2025, they released 20 items and sold a total of over 9.6 million units, demonstrating immense popularity, especially among women in their 40s and 50s. This showcases the distinctly Japanese culture of enjoying the changing of seasons through food.

Uchi Café Strawberry Milk Tart
On top of a tart base baked with a layer of subtly strawberry-scented custard, a strawberry sauce with pulp, strawberry milk whip, and whipped cream are luxuriously piped. It’s topped with freeze-dried strawberries for a textural accent. The price is 292 JPY (tax included). However, this product will not be available in Okinawa Prefecture.
Uchi Café Chewy Red Taiyaki with Strawberry Cream
A variation of the traditional Japanese sweet “taiyaki (fish-shaped cake).” This item features a chewy, red batter filled with a generous amount of refreshing strawberry cream. The price is 189 JPY (tax included). Not available at Natural Lawson stores.
