The “Kyushu Noodle Tour Fair,” a campaign by the Japanese Konbini chain FamilyMart in the Kyushu region of southwestern Japan, is creating a major buzz among foodies. This fair, which spotlights the rich noodle culture of each prefecture in Kyushu, consistently draws significant attention.
And on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, for the long-awaited fifth installment, two new appealing noodle dishes perfect for winter will be released for a limited time at approximately 1,500 select FamilyMart stores in the Kyushu region (Fukuoka, Saga, Nagasaki, Kumamoto, Oita, Miyazaki, and Kagoshima prefectures) and parts of Yamaguchi prefecture.
This time, the lineup features a rich tonkotsu ramen supervised by “Ajisen Ramen,” a symbol of Kumamoto ramen, and an udon extravagantly topped with “Toriten,” the soul food of Oita’s residents. It’s a rare opportunity to easily experience authentic, locally beloved flavors at a Konbini.
The Soul of Kumamoto Ramen, Assembled Here! “Ajisen Ramen’s Supervised Tonkotsu Ramen (with Black Garlic Oil)”
First up is the “Ajisen Ramen’s Supervised Tonkotsu Ramen (with Black Garlic Oil).”
“Ajisen Ramen,” headquartered in Kumamoto City, is a famous restaurant representing Kumamoto ramen, with stores now spanning the globe. Its signature feature is its rich tonkotsu (pork bone) soup and the fragrant flavor of its black garlic oil (mayu), made from charred garlic.

This dish is a truly authentic recreation of the soul of “Ajisen Ramen” for the Konbini market. The base tonkotsu soup is enhanced with Ajisen Ramen’s original soup stock and finished with flavorful black garlic oil. One sip of the soup, and the deep richness of the pork bone and the punchy aroma of the black garlic oil will fill your mouth.
The noodles are specially designed to cling to the soup. Toppings include ramen classics like chashu (braised pork belly), the enjoyably unique texture of kikurage (wood-ear mushroom), and fried garlic to further enhance the aroma.
The chilled noodles sold at Japanese Konbini have a reputation for offering quality that rivals specialty shops with just a simple heating in the microwave, and this ramen lives up to that expectation. The price is 554 yen (598 yen including tax). On a cold winter day, be sure to experience this rich dish that will warm you to the core.
A Dish Filled with Oita’s Local Love! “Toriten Udon with Chicken Breast from Kyushu”
The other star of the show is the “Toriten Udon with Chicken Breast from Kyushu.”
“Toriten” is a type of chicken tempura, a local dish especially beloved in Oita Prefecture. It consists of seasoned chicken fried to a crispy finish and is enjoyed as a topping for udon or soba, or as a side dish on its own.

This product is a luxurious udon that features “Toriten” as the star. It uses chicken breast sourced from Kyushu. The Toriten, made from chicken thoroughly marinated in soy sauce, garlic, and ginger before being fried, is both juicy and incredibly satisfying.
The soup also shows a special attention to detail. Based on a dashi (stock) made from round herring flakes and dried sardines, shiitake mushroom stock and mirin are added to create a deep and rich flavor. This light yet umami-packed soup further enhances the deliciousness of the Toriten.
In addition to the star Toriten, the toppings include vibrant kamaboko (fish cake). This dish is also priced at 554 yen (598 yen including tax). In contrast to the tonkotsu ramen, this bowl captivates with the gentle flavor of its dashi broth.
Get an Even Better Deal! FamiPay Exclusive Campaign
During the fair, there will also be a special campaign using “FamiPay,” the official FamilyMart app.
When you purchase an eligible “Kyushu Noodle Tour Fair” product along with Coca-Cola’s “Karada Sukoyaka Cha W+ 350ml” (a Food for Specified Health Uses), and present your FamiPay at the register, you will later receive a rebate equivalent to 100 yen in FamiPay points. The campaign runs from Tuesday, January 6, 2026, to Monday, February 2, 2026. It’s a wonderful combination that lets you enjoy a delicious noodle dish while also being mindful of your health.

Don’t Miss the In-Store Broadcasts!
Furthermore, at approximately 1,072 FamilyMart stores in the Kyushu region, original videos for this fair will be broadcast on the in-store digital signage system, “FamilyMartVision.” The 15-second videos will introduce the appeal of the products and campaign information, so why not check it out while you shop?
Japanese Konbini are not just places that sell products; they also serve as entertainment spaces that promote regional food culture and delight customers through limited-time regional fairs and media promotions. If you have the chance to visit Kyushu, be sure to stop by a nearby FamilyMart and enjoy this special, winter-only “men-katsu (noodle hunting)” experience.
