FamilyMart’s “Kyushu Noodle Tour Fair,” a campaign that shines a spotlight on the diverse noodle culture of the Kyushu region of Japan, is gaining momentum, having sold over 150,000 items to date. As the fourth installment of this popular fair, two new and exciting regional ramen varieties will be introduced starting Tuesday, December 9, 2025.
This fair, which introduces unique noodle dishes from each prefecture in Kyushu on a monthly basis, has earned a reputation for letting customers feel like they’re on a culinary journey. This time, the lineup features two contrasting yet equally tempting options: the spicy “Karainen” from Miyazaki Prefecture and a “Miso Ramen” supervised by a long-established miso brewery in Kagoshima Prefecture.
Let’s take a closer look at these products, which will be sold exclusively at approximately 1,500 FamilyMart stores in the Kyushu region and parts of Yamaguchi Prefecture.
A Spicy Sensation from Miyazaki! “Tsurutto Puritto Noodle – Spicy Egg Drop Soup Karamen”
First up is a recreation of “Karainen,” a local delicacy from Miyazaki Prefecture.

“Karainen,” as the name implies, is a ramen known for its chili pepper heat and is immensely popular among locals as a perfect final dish after a night out. FamilyMart’s version isn’t just spicy. It uses special noodles produced by applying pressure to the dough, which gives them a smooth, slurpable texture and a firm, springy bite.
This unique noodle is paired with a soy sauce-based chicken broth infused with the savory flavors of minced pork and garlic. A fluffy egg-based sauce gently envelops the soup, mellowing the spiciness and adding depth to the overall flavor. It’s a dish guaranteed to warm you to the core during the coming cold season.
Priced at 510 yen (550 yen with tax), it offers an authentic taste that is a must-try for spice lovers.
The Flavor of a 120-Year-Old Shop! “Large Miso Ramen Supervised by Maruni Miso Ramen”
The other new item is a complete change of pace, a bowl that allows you to savor the rich flavors of miso. This one is supervised by “Maruni Miso Ramen,” a popular ramen shop operated by Satsumasendai Miso Shoyu Co., Ltd., a historic miso and soy sauce brewery founded in 1905 in Kagoshima Prefecture.

The standout feature of this product is undoubtedly its soup. It uses Maruni’s special raw miso, which is based on the slightly sweet “barley miso” popular in the Kyushu region. This creates a simple, nostalgic, and gentle flavor that only a miso brewery can achieve, filling your mouth with every spoonful.
The curly noodles, which cling to the soup well, come in a generous 300g large serving, making it very satisfying. The ramen is colorfully adorned with toppings, including flavorful shredded white leeks, crisp bean sprouts and cabbage, menma (bamboo shoots), and seasoned ground meat and *hanakatsuo* (thinly shaved dried bonito flakes) for an extra flavor accent.
Priced at 593 yen (640 yen with tax), this is a great chance to easily experience an exquisite ramen crafted by artisans who know the true taste of miso.
What is “Maruni Miso Ramen”?
“Maruni Miso Ramen” is a specialty shop popular for its ramen made with miso carefully prepared in-house. With its main branch in Satsumasendai City, Kagoshima Prefecture, it is beloved by many fans. Regarding this collaboration, sales manager Yuki Shinomiya commented, “Based on our restaurant’s flavor, we paid close attention to the balance of ingredients. We want everyone across Kyushu to enjoy ‘Miso Ramen made by a Miso Brewery’.”

Don’t Miss the Special Campaign!
A rewarding campaign will also be running during the fair.
When you purchase any ramen from the “Kyushu Noodle Tour Fair” along with a bottle of Ito En “O-i Ocha Koku Kaoru Hojicha 600ml” and present the official FamilyMart app “Famipay,” you will receive 100 yen worth of Famima Points back. Pairing tea with ramen is a classic combination in the Japanese dining scene.

The campaign runs from Tuesday, December 9, 2025, to Monday, January 5, 2026. Why not take this opportunity to enjoy a delicious meal at a great price?
Furthermore, original videos introducing the fair will be shown on “FamilyMartVision,” the digital signage installed in FamilyMart stores throughout the Kyushu region.
Japanese convenience stores are not just about convenience; they also play a role in promoting regional food culture. If you happen to visit the Kyushu region during this time, be sure to stop by a local FamilyMart to taste some authentic regional ramen.
