Win Luxury Appliances! Seven-Eleven Japan Launches March “Rank Up Challenge”

Seven-Eleven, Japan’s largest “konbini” (convenience store) chain, is launching a month-long “Shop and Rank Up Challenge” from March 1 to March 31, 2026. This campaign is exclusively for members of their official smartphone app.

By scanning your app’s membership code (barcode) at the checkout, your cumulative spending will determine your “Rank.” Higher ranks unlock discount coupons and entries into a lottery (known as “Lotto” or “Kuji” in Japan) for luxury prizes.

The March 2026 edition is generating significant buzz because the entry requirements have been lowered. Even those at the “Bronze Rank”—which can be achieved with modest daily purchases—are now eligible to win high-end household appliances.

Rank Up by Presenting the App! The March Reward System

In this “Shop and Rank Up Challenge,” your rank is determined by the total amount spent (excluding tax) during the campaign period.

There are two types of rewards: up to 10 app coupons and entries into a lottery for luxury prizes based on your final rank.

Previously, the lottery for high-end prizes was reserved for top-tier spenders. However, for March, prizes have been prepared for every level, starting from the Bronze Rank. This means even small daily purchases, typical of life in Japan, give you a chance to win digital gifts and more.

Your spending is automatically tracked by the system. Within 24 hours of reaching a milestone, coupons or lottery instructions will be sent directly to your app. If you make a large purchase and immediately reach the “Platinum Rank” (30,000 JPY / approx. $201 or more), you will receive all coupons and lottery entries from the lower ranks simultaneously.

Please note that ranks reset every month, so it is highly recommended to use your rewards before the end of the following month.

Up to 10 Coupons Based on Your Total Spend

As your cumulative spending (excluding tax) increases, the number of coupons delivered to your app grows in stages.

Table showing rank levels and coupon rewards
  • Bronze Rank: Rewards begin after spending 2,000 JPY (approx. $13).
  • Silver Rank: Additional coupons are sent after reaching 5,000 JPY (approx. $34).
  • Gold Rank: More coupons are unlocked at 10,000 JPY (approx. $67).
  • Platinum Rank: At 30,000 JPY (approx. $201), you earn the maximum of 10 coupons.

For those living in Japan who regularly buy “bento” lunch boxes or drinks, reaching these ranks happens quite naturally. The coupons earned during this period are valid until April 7, 2026.

Win Premium Brands Like “Balmuda” and “Dyson”

The highlight of the March campaign is the luxury prize lineup, curated perfectly for the “New Life” season (Japan’s traditional time for moving and starting new jobs or school years). The selection includes high-quality designer appliances and convenient digital gifts.

Important Notes: Items Excluded from the Campaign

While most purchases count toward your rank, certain products and services are excluded. Because Japanese convenience stores are multi-functional hubs, the following payments do not count toward your total:

  • Public utility bills or payments for internet shopping
  • Postcards, postage stamps, and revenue stamps
  • QUO Cards, gift certificates, and prepaid cards
  • Regional designated trash bags and waste disposal stickers
  • Tickets from the multi-copy machine
  • Delivery fees or nanaco (electronic money) issuance fees

However, payments made via nanaco cards registered in the app or via PayPay (contactless payment) through the app will be counted correctly.

March is the season when cherry blossom viewing (Hanami) and preparations for a new lifestyle begin in Japan. When visiting Seven-Eleven, don’t forget to show your app and enjoy your shopping while aiming for these luxury prizes!
