Yokohama’s beautiful waterfront, the Minato Mirai district, is welcoming an exciting holiday season with the world-beloved animated duo, “Tom and Jerry.” In celebration of its 85th anniversary this year, a large-scale winter festival titled “YOKOHAMA MINATOMIRAI WINTER HOLIDAY 2025-2026 -Tom and Jerry, Always by Your Side.-” is currently underway until Monday, January 12, 2026.
This event brings together three of Minato Mirai’s iconic landmarks—Yokohama Landmark Tower, MARK IS Minato Mirai, and Sky Building—to host a wide array of activities that span from Christmas to the New Year. A major highlight is a special screening at the “Lawson United Cinema STYLE-S Minato Mirai” theater located within MARK IS Minato Mirai. In addition, there are pop-up stores offering exclusive merchandise and family-friendly workshops, providing a wealth of content for everyone to enjoy, not just fans.
Back on the Big Screen! Special Screening of the ‘Tom and Jerry’ Movie
One of the highlights of this holiday event is a limited-time screening of the live-action/animated hybrid film Tom & Jerry at the “Lawson United Cinema STYLE-S Minato Mirai,” located on the 5th floor of MARK IS Minato Mirai.
While the name “Lawson” might bring to mind the famous Japanese convenience store chain, “Lawson United Cinema” is a modern cinema complex boasting state-of-the-art facilities. It has become a popular destination for easily enjoying a top-tier movie experience right inside the shopping center.
Come and enjoy their classic chase scenes on the grand theater screen with powerful sound.

From Christmas to New Year! Evolving Decorations
One of the interesting year-end customs in Japan is how city decorations switch from Christmas to New Year’s (Oshogatsu) themes right after December 25. You can experience this cultural shift at the event.
Landmark Plaza: A Music Tree Inspired by Kadomatsu
After Christmas, the giant “Tom and Jerry MUSIC TREE” will transform its illumination to a vibrant green, reminiscent of Kadomatsu, a traditional Japanese New Year’s decoration. Tom and Jerry, dressed as horses for the 2026 Chinese zodiac, will add to the New Year’s festivities.
MARK IS Minato Mirai: Tom and Jerry’s Fukuwarai
At the base of the giant cheese-themed gift object, “Tom and Jerry CHEESE GIFT,” a panel for the traditional Japanese New Year’s game “Fukuwarai” will appear. You can enjoy the humorous expressions of Tom and Jerry, much like in the game where you place facial features on a blank face while blindfolded.
Limited-Time Christmas Displays Until December 25
At the Sky Building, a giant whole-cake-style tree, depicting Tom and Jerry preparing a Christmas cake, will be on display until December 25.
At the “Sky Garden” observation deck on the 69th floor of Yokohama Landmark Tower, a special exhibition looking back on the 85-year history of Tom and Jerry is being held. This also runs until December 25, so don’t miss it. (*Admission fee required for Sky Garden.)
