The incredibly popular “healing-type” character from Japan, Obungu-san, is bringing new exclusive merchandise to Lawson, one of Japan’s major konbini (convenience stores). Famous on social media and for their LINE stickers, “Obungu and Friends” (Obungu to Issho) continues to soothe hearts with its quirky and laid-back world.
Starting March 24, 2026, these items will roll out sequentially at Lawson stores across Japan. This release features two types of items: the practical “Swaying Ballpoint Pen” and a “2-Sticker Set” available in 24 different designs. Both are packed with the essence of Japan’s unique Kawaii culture.
Soothe Your Soul Every Time You Write! “Swaying Ballpoint Pen”
Brighten up your desk work or study time with the “Swaying Ballpoint Pen.” Its most charming feature is the character attached to the top of the pen, which sways back and forth in sync with your writing movements.
These pens utilize silicone and rubber materials, offering a soft and pleasant texture. Available in two designs, the price is 1,320 yen (approx. $8.80 USD, tax included) each. Standing at about 200mm (approx. 7.87 inches), they have a notable presence just sitting on your desk. It feels as if Obungu-san is cheering you on while you work or study, providing a strange but welcome sense of comfort.
24 Retro Photo-Style Designs! “2-Sticker Set”
A must-have for any fan of Obungu-san is the “2-Sticker Set.” Each pack contains two randomly selected stickers for 660 yen (approx. $4.40 USD, tax included).
This collection features a “photo-style” (instant camera style) design. It brings back precious illustrations previously drawn exclusively for Lawson in Japan, making them highly collectible.
