Starting October 7, 2025, the Japanese convenience store chain LAWSON is launching an exciting new line of products supervised by “Aubergine,” a legendary curry specialty shop famous for its “location bento”—bento boxes beloved on TV and film sets. Aubergine is so renowned that it has been inducted into the “Japan Location Bento Awards” Hall of Fame. Now, you can easily enjoy the taste of this celebrated establishment with three new, convenient items.
What is “Aubergine”?
Established in 1987 as a delivery-only curry shop, Aubergine has captivated the hearts of many with its unique European-style curry. Its signature flavor comes from a meticulously prepared onion bouillon that takes three days to make, combined with a secret blend of 24 spices. The result is a delightful curry with a fruity sweetness that gives way to a lingering, spicy kick.
