Japanese convenience store giant, 7-Eleven, in a powerful collaboration with the ramen master “Chuka Soba Tomita,” is launching two revolutionary new products all over Japan.
One is a further evolution of a hugely popular series that sells over 19 million units annually. The other is a new venture into “Ie-kei ramen,” a popular genre in Japan’s ramen culture. These products symbolize the high quality of food offered by Japanese convenience stores.
Maximum Guilt! “Deka Buta Ramen with Extra Fat & Chewy Thick Noodles”

First up is the “Chuka Soba Tomita Supervised Deka Buta Ramen with Extra Fat & Chewy Thick Noodles.” It is priced at 680 yen (734.40 yen including tax) and will be released sequentially at 7-Eleven stores all over Japan starting November 19th.
This ramen is inspired by “Jiro-style ramen,” a style with a fanatical following in Japan. It’s characterized by its mountain-like volume and intensely powerful flavor.
The biggest highlight of this renewal is the increase of “garlic back fat” by about 1.5 times compared to the previous version. This special garlic back fat, enhanced with the flavor of lard and the richness of soy sauce, accelerates the rich, junk-food-like taste. This “guilty pleasure” is precisely what attracts so many fans.

The noodles are extra-thick with a unique “washi-washi” (chewy and firm) texture, just as the name suggests. They are blended with whole wheat flour, and the rich flavor of the wheat spreads through your mouth with every bite.
The soup is based on a rich pork bone broth (pork bone broth), blended with the umami of pork fat and a sharp soy sauce base called “kaeshi.” This powerful soup perfectly complements the incredibly substantial thick noodles, creating a harmonious bowl.
Tomita’s New Challenge! The Classic “Ie-kei Ramen”

Next is a new challenge from the owner of Tomita: the “Chuka Soba Tomita Supervised Ie-kei Ramen.” Priced at 630 yen (680.40 yen including tax), this will also be available all over Japan starting November 19th.
“Ie-kei (Ie-kei) ramen” is a popular ramen style said to have originated in Yokohama. It features a rich pork bone and soy sauce soup with thick, short, straight noodles.
The noodles developed for this product are a blend of three types of domestic Japanese wheat. They use a thick, medium-fat noodle style known as “gyaku-giri-men” (reverse-cut noodles), which is characteristic of Ie-kei ramen and holds the soup exceptionally well.

The “kaeshi (soy sauce base),” which is key to the soup’s flavor, is a blend of four carefully selected soy sauces. This achieves both the powerful “kire” (sharpness) of the soy sauce and a deep “koku” (richness), characteristic of Ie-kei ramen.
The dashi broth (dashi broth) uses pork and chicken bones. In particular, the addition of “tori momiji (chicken feet),” which are rich in collagen, creates a rich yet clean and elegant umami aftertaste. It’s an authentic soup you can enjoy to the last drop without getting tired of it.
Who is the Famous “Chuka Soba Tomita”?
“Chuka Soba Tomita,” with its main store in Matsudo City, Chiba Prefecture, is one of the most famous ramen shops in Japan. It has won numerous awards, and people from both within Japan and abroad flock to taste its flavor.
The owner, Mr. Tomita, is known for his passion and dedication to every bowl of ramen, from the ultra-rich soup simmered for over 20 hours to the homemade noodles made from carefully selected domestic wheat. It is because of the supervision of such a renowned restaurant that a convenience store product can achieve a quality that rivals that of a specialty shop.
As the weather gets colder, these ramen bowls, which allow you to easily enjoy the taste of a famous restaurant just by heating them in the microwave, are sure to be a reliable companion on busy days. When you visit Japan, be sure to experience this amazing bowl at 7-Eleven.
